Current activities

TJ is part of a and Illegal Fishing (IUU) project in conjunction with the Fishing Ministry in Indonesia as well as being a part of a watse portfolio that includes both land based and marine debris projects, including the Emerging Priorities NESP project ' Assessing the effectiveness of waste management in reducing the levels of plastics entering Australia’s marine environment'.

Background

TJ is a spatial analyst specialising in GIS applications. She has been involved in many projects during her time at CSIRO including climate change, avian ecology, biodiversity in streams, fire ecology and diversity, invasive pests and weeds, corridors, vegetation mapping and habitat suitabiliy mapping pre and post natural disasters. In the last few years TJ's work has been focused on marine debris and fisheries management of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. In recognition of CSIRO's work in this area, the marine debris team which TJ resides won the 2016 Eureka Prize for for Environmental Research.
