Newborn Scalloped Hammerhead sharks (~60 cm TL) taken as bycatch in the prawn trawl in the Gulf of Papua. Juveniles like this are also readily captured in Australian waters. These individuals are being sampled for genetics to determine how connected Australian and PNG populations are.
