The risk of ships colliding large marine animals is of increasing concern in Australia as shipping levels increase along with coastal and port development. Hub research has identified danger areas for priority species, and developed approaches to minimising risk. This new evidence supports Australia’s National Strategy for Reducing Vessel Strike on Cetaceans and other Marine Megafauna.
